Mom is still collecting sand for her friend back home. This is at Big River Beach in Mendocino, CA, on the coast.
My sister, Que (left) was in SF for a medical conference, so Mom & I met up with her for a short visit.
I had to touch the water in the Atlantic, so why not the Pacific also?
This beach is supposed to have one of the longest strands of sand in this area, but it may have been washed away in last weeks storm. It was just very rocky.
We pulled over at one of the many scenic vista points to enjoy the view.
I think Mom liked this tree!
This is a short walk from our campsite at the Pismo Beach, CA
JL tests the Pacific Ocean waters
Mom finally got a chance to have another campfire. We roasted little hot dogs and marshmellows, quite good actually.
It rained last night and was still raining this morning when Mom decided to check out the beach.
We both enjoyed just sitting here and watching the waves
The creek is behind Mom, just before it empties into the Pacific Ocean.
We stopped here for lunch first, before later finding a campsite just about 1/2 mile north of here.
It rained all night and was much colder when we got up today - but that didn't discourage Mom from doing some beach combing (I think she's holding up a shell, not sure though)
This was just down the shallow hill about 30 feet from the RV site.
When we get to a nich beach, I take off my shoes and check out the water. Mom tries building sand castles.
The sand was so white, I had trouble seeing with all the glare, so tried the hat so see if it would help (it did a little)
Even though it was getting late and we'd already been to one beach today, Mom enjoyed getting out in the sunshine one more time.
OK - Mom caught me
There aren't very many beaches on the Florida Key's, this is one of the nicer ones.
This campground at Long Key State Park is normally booked up a year in advance, but sometimes people cancel at the last minute. Life is rough, what can I say?
This was at the Miami Everglades Campground next to our RV site.
We only stopped at the beach for about 30 minutes, but really enjoyed our time there.
The mature tree's near the shoreline of a beach indicate a beach subject to erosion. But it was sure lovely!
